Mirage Mood beads are a type of thermochromic bead that changes color in response to changes in temperature. The beads are usually made of a type of plastic or glass that contains a temperature-sensitive liquid crystal or other material. When the bead is exposed to changes in temperature, such as from body heat or changes in the surrounding environment, the liquid crystal or other material changes its molecular structure, which in turn changes the color of the bead.

Mood beads were first popularized in the 1970s and have since become a popular fashion accessory. The color changes of mood beads are said to reflect the wearer's emotional state, which is where the name "mood" beads comes from. However, the color changes are actually based on temperature changes rather than emotions.
